Readings I Recommend!

I have a small library and I am a reader and  writer, and I blogged at for more than a decade. It was first a blog on Malaysian politics and this one year feeling old I started to think more of our Maker. The blog is about Islamic Theology.

I read among others Robert T. Kiyosaki’s Rich Dad Poor Dad (an eye opener to me of what is meant by financial freedom and that prompted me to get involved in, after so many years, afiliate maketing ), Tony Robbins‘ Unshakeable on perseverance, William A. Cohen’s Peter Drucker’s Way To The Top insights to achieve success in one’s station in life and management and finally Donald T. Phillips’ Lincoln On Leadership (which showed Lincoln political acumen in uniting his country men divided between the love of slavery and the equality of all men. You can buy any of these books on by clicking any of the linked-texts or images.

PeterDrucker-300x250-1Pic is of the Guru Peter Drucker. Peter Drucker’s quote quoted by Cohen: “The most crucial and vital resource you have as an executive and as a manager is yourself” is indeed an inspiration. From Ayn Rand, “Money is only a tool. It will take you wherever you wish, but it will not replace you as a driver.”

And I always remind myself, albeit about all of the talks of financial freedom, of what B.C. Forbes said, “the purpose of business is to produce happiness, not to pile up money.”

Another book is that of a Russian leader Peter The Great: Autocrat And Reformer who brought his country to progress and unity. Peter The Great is a model leader of my country Malaysia 7th Prime Minister and his second time as it’s Prime Minister who is no one else other than the mild outspoken Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad and here is the excerpt of his interview on his role models:

Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad is a prolific writer and has two books on his account: A Doctor In The House the results of his writings in his column, despite his heavy time as Prime Minister, and The Malay Dilemma a controversial book that labelled him as ultra Malay for alarming the Malays why they are backward in their own country.

I believed writing make one thinks, in time witty and wise. Western writers never forget to write books on Mahathir and recently Mahathir was named as one of Fortune’s ’50 World’s Great Leaders’.

Kinda believe that Mahathir didn’t eat fish, no exercise,  going 94 and took Berocca as supplement for maintaining physical fitness and mental sharpness.

Aligning Amazon Products’ Images Side By Side With HTML

In my last writing on SiteStripes I have mentioned about pasting Amazon products’ images side by side on page(s) of affiliate website so that it looks need and does not necessitate visitors to scroll too far down, leaving big empty space for nothing creating a feeling of repulsion not only to visitors but even to ourselves unless  review(s) is made on the products. Example:

and not:

but (life example):

or (life example):

For those who know html (hypertext markup language), aligning images side by side is pigeon feed. Otherwise you have to buy plugin to do that, meaning spending a few more dollars to get going!

Just watch the video I put upfront above: How to Place Amazon Book Images Side by Side in WordPress . Observe it comprehensively, placing Amazon products’ images by html is simple after all. The video helped me a lot.

Please watch these videos before reading further:

Eager to get started selling being accepted as Amazon affiliate I log in with my affiliate password. I see the Amazon Associate banner but surprisingly I don’t see the Site Stripe on the Amazon website, the platform of which from where I can link or post the Amazon’s products on my website as explained by Alex and Smart Business Mom in their videos above. First I faced the Identity Verification now Site Stripes. If you observed the two videos above you can clearly see the Site Stripe printed as SiteStripe on the top left hand corner of the Amazon website but none was found on mine. See the Site Stripe indicator in the image below:

This may be a simple problem to some people but not to me. As usual when I faced obstacle, I turned to You Tube if I can find anything on Site Stripe. I found several videos on that but I upload two videos to share here:

The videos settled the problem.

Linking Amazon’s products to affiliate website is straight forward and should not be a problem, but pasting Amazon product images to website side by side to make it looks need and does not necessitate visitors to scroll too far down, leaving big empty space for nothing creating a feeling of repulsion, is a problem unless review is intended to be made on the products later on.

Long Down Trodden Images If You Have Many

Side by Side Images You Can Have More Than Two in a Row

As you see the Amazon product images are supposed to be pasted directly on the WordPress website (using Amazon link code of course) or on any other host for that matter but not through the WordPress Media library editor, that makes it difficult, if you can understand what I mean.

I shall write about that, God willing.

Just Got Accepted as Trial Affiliate

I just got accepted as an trial affiliate on 19 April 2019, very recent. By trial it means I am not a qualified affiliate yet until I made a sale within 180 days starting from the day I got accepted.

It took me about a week to get through and after several attempts accepted.

hqdefaultThe “puzzling” part (to me) at the final stage before acceptance is the identity verification with a computer generated call from Amazon. com Affiliate Central. The call asked me to relay using the touch screen pad on my hand phone the four digits verification number they gave me when I clicked them to call me. I have no idea how  to respond to that even with my Blackview smartphone in my hand. I failed many times and the Affiliate Central made me to wait few hours before I can try again.

So in the mean time I made searches on related videos on You Tube that  may assist and guide.  I came across this video Amazon call verification Fix while making affiliate account [100% SURE] (still relevant though published on Nov 17, 2017) and with it as aid I indeed succeeded, congratulated and received an e-mail from to start promoting their products on my website Wagyu 燕窝 Yàn Wō as an affiliate.

Only when I got accepted as affiliate that I came across another video which is, as far as my need as an amateur affiliate is concerned, comprehensive:  Amazon Affiliate Marketing Tutorial A Beginners Step By Step Guide (published on Jun 28, 2018 – just 9 months old) by Sandra The Mom Boss.  It’s the most precise tutorial in helping beginners starting from the initiation of filling the online Affiliate Application form (which I have went through exactly myself) before getting accepted as an affiliate and the tours about Associate Central. Regrettably little is touched on the practical know-hows to promote products on one’s affiliate websites and this is disappointing. I shall touch on that in my next post once I understood the basic mechanism and applied it on my website.

Hopefully I am able to post products in this website in a few weeks time. This website of mine has seen it’s name changed many times within less than three months, setup on 2nd February 2019 on premium plan, the least plan WordPress allowed you to monetize your blog/website.

Like (on You Tube) the videos I have referred above as a show of appreciation of the video-owners’ effort and services to make our lives as affiliates easy.

Knowing Original Swiftlet Bird Nest From Fake Ones

The Smart Local Malaysia,  about identifying original bird nest from a fake one, reports:

The bird’s nest industry is a lucrative one. And as with every industry, there are always some unscrupulous folks out there, who will go to great lengths to cheat you of your money. The issue of fake bird’s nests is more widespread and rampant than you think, but we’ve got your back. Here’s how to be a savvy bird’s nest shopper:

Method 1: First and foremost, save yourself the potential drama and buy your bird’s nest from an established retailer. They’ve been in the business for a long time, and usually have an excellent track record.

Method 2: Prior to your purchase, inspect the colour and shape of the bird’s nest. The real deal should be translucent in colour, but never reflective or a pure white. Additionally, as bird’s nests are a byproduct of nature, no two are 100% identical. So if you see several bird’s nests in the same shop that look exactly the same, the chances are, they’re manufactured.

Method 3: Put your sense of smell to the test. A real bird’s nest should smell raw and “fishy” in its uncooked state. If it smells like plastic or has no discernible aroma, you shouldn’t touch that thing with a ten foot pole.

Method 4: Though usually not a method we would recommended during your pre-purchase process, real bird’s nests are fragile and break easily. So if you find yourself with a piece that’s tough as a board, you know what you’ve got!

Method 5: If you soak the bird’s nest in water and the water changes colour after a few hours, you’ll probably want to dispose of it ASAP. Fake nests are dyed unnatural colours to fool people into believing that they’re a higher grade, so the colour leaches out during the soaking process. With real bird’s nest, the water should remasin clear throughout.

Halal Is Not Kosher

They are not the same, hence different.

Kosher and Halal are terms often heard in the context of meat and dairy, and although it’s common knowledge that the terms refer to guidelines on what can be consumed and what cannot, few know what either really means, let alone how they differ. “Is this kosher?” has become a common expression that has transcended the context of religion and food to the point that it simply means “Is this acceptable?” in a colloquial sense.

Kosher and Halal and  refer to what’s permitted by Jewish and Islamic religious laws respectively. Halal is an Islamic term that means lawful or permitted. Although halal in a broad sense can refer to anything that’s permitted by Islam, it’s most often used in the context of permissible dietary habits, specifically when it comes to meat consumption. Kosher is a similar term used to describe food that is proper or fit for consumption according to Kashrut, the Jewish dietary law. This comparison will restrict itself to the context of religious dietary laws.

Kobe Beef Crazy Rich Food The Shady Truth

Are Kobe and Wagyu the same thing?

938fc2a0-08c6-4781-8308-69c3cf1a0a12“One of the biggest misconceptions about Kobe beef is that the name can be used interchangeably with Wagyu beef. Wagyu is a beef that comes from one of four breeds of Japanese cows, but are Wagyu and Kobe actually the same thing? “The answer is yes and no,” Chef Gerald Chin told First We Feast. “All Kobe is Wagyu, but not all Wagyu is Kobe. Wagyu means Japanese beef. You can’t call something Kobe unless it’s certified from the region in Japan.

Kobe beef has a distinct marbling, which means that the meat has webs of fat that easily melt when heated. It is these deposits of fat that make the beef so tender and give it that “melt in your mouth” quality. Kobe beef is so soft that fine cuts of it are even sometimes served raw. The fat in Japanese cattle is so prized that it is a major component of their meat grading criteria. Japan’s Beef Marbling Standard ranges from 1-12, with USDA Prime, which gets America’s top marbling grade, ranking only at about a five on the scale. Kobe beef typically ranks much higher, with marbling levels that are beyond anything in the USDA’s rating system.

The fat levels of Kobe beef might sound unhealthy, but it’s actually the opposite. Kobe beef is filled with unsaturated fats, which have been shown to lower cholesterol levels. Kobe beef is also rich in omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids, making it among the healthiest red meat that you can consume.”
